The Alliance’s multi-week rise appears to have been brought to a halt, even a slight decline, while Liberal support continues to ease off, according to a COMPAS poll for the National Post, Southam News, and Global TV. The main beneficiary of the events of the last few days appears to be independent or tiny parties as there has been a jump in the number of respondents saying that they would vote for another party. It is almost as if the voters were saying “a pox on all your houses.” The Bloc meanwhile appears to be easing upwards in support. A representative sample survey of n=1612 was conducted by professional interviewers using computer-assisted telephone interviewing technology November 9-10. Surveys of this size are deemed accurate to within approximately 2.5 percentage points 19 times out of 20.
