Canadians’ Intense Concerns about Water Quality

As shown in table 1 below, almost half of Canadians lack confidence in the water flowing into their homes. The only reason that those who are confident outnumber slightly those who are not is that rural people are overwhelmingly confident. Among people living in large cities, medium-sized cities, or towns, those who trust their water are evenly matched with those who do not. But among rural residents, those who trust their water as safe to drink out number those who do not by more than 2:1—70% vs. 30%.
