Publicly trade companies on the TSE and NYSE continue to retain very high levels of trust for providing accurate and timely information even following a year of accounting scandals. Canada’s CEOs and business leaders nonetheless feel strongly that companies must reveal immediately the planned departures of senior executives and that new laws should make this mandatory. Among senior executive officers, CFOs occupy a position of prominence in the minds of business leaders—their employment stability at a company appears to be more important than that of other senior officer.

These are the key findings from the current web-survey of CEOs and other business leaders conducted by COMPAS on behalf of the National Post under sponsorship of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
