COMPAS Poll/Survey

Corporate leaders do want more than two Canadian teams in the once entirely Canadian NHL, but their hockey patriotism falls just short of being strong enough to deliver a majority in favour of tax support for the sport. Only half of the respondents in the weekly web-survey say that government should “move part way towards reducing some of the tax disadvantage of Canadian teams competing with American teams.” These findings come during a week of much reported business woes in the NHL, particularly for the Ottawa team. These are the key findings from the web-survey of CEOs and other business leaders conducted by COMPAS on behalf of the National Post under sponsorship of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. |
