Just days before Finance Minister John Manley is expected to announce the new federal budget, COMPAS asked Canadian CEOs and business leaders to assess expected expenditures. The web-survey conducted on behalf of the National Post and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce found that the Liberal government scores a near-bulls’ eye in its increased financial commitment to the military, under-spends on healthcare and debt repayment, and over-spends on daycare, child benefits, and Kyoto-related programs.
