Liberal Weakness Makes It a Strong NDP Victory; Layton’s Candidacy Makes It a Landslide

NDP candidate Jack Layton is expected to win an absolute majority of the vote, according to a COMPAS riding poll (n=300) conducted for the National Post, Global Television, the National Post and other CanWest newspapers. NDP candidate Jack Layton leads with 53% of the decided vote, followed distantly by Liberal incumbent Dennis Mills with 33%, as shown in table 1.
