Canada’s business leaders say they and their staff are working longer hours at the office, spending less time at home, and being expected to do so quite often without financial recognition from their companies. The majority of business leaders, four in five, say that professional time is taking away from family time much more than a generation ago and that while companies are often considerate in giving extra time off for health problems, for example, they are not as considerate in giving extra time off for marital difficulties. Notably, while the amount of vacation time provided is an important consideration in evaluating an employment opportunity, health benefits and salary and bonus structure are more important. |
