Of 17 Conservative platform commitments presented to the CEO panel for assessment, respondents singled out four as top priorities and two as low priorities. The top four priorities are controlling government spending and tax relief, tougher sentencing guidelines, better Can-Am relations, healthcare reform including benchmarks for wait-times and more flexibility for non-governmental services. The bottom two priorities are bank mergers and the childcare allowance.

Asked to volunteer priorities that were not listed among the 17 presented to respondents, CEOs and business leaders singled out a need for more military spending and a need to protect Canadian manufacturing.

These were the key findings from the most recent web-survey of business leaders and CEOs conducted by COMPAS for the National Post under sponsorship of BDO Dunwoody.
