Foreign Airline Access - Open Skies Policy Wins, Emirates Lose

CEOs and business leaders on the COMPAS business panel greatly favour at least some degree of liberalization of airlines policy. Most advocate unrestricted reciprocity, believing that greater freedom of trade will yield better quality, more service options, and especially lower prices. Most panelists would normally advocate reciprocity in the case of the United Arab Emirates. But, given the recent contre-temps involving the country, panelists take a dim view of the UAE, which they perceive as an unreasonable and untrustworthy trading partner.

These are the key findings from this past week’s Internet survey of CEOs and business leaders on the COMPAS panel. The weekly business survey is undertaken for Canadian Business magazine under sponsorship of BDO Dunwoody LLP.
