Big Heart, Big Impatience: Public Opinion on Aboriginal Policy

More than a century after Confederation, Canadians show a big heart in their attitudes towards the country’s Aboriginal inhabitants. The strongest evidence of such liberalism is Canadians’ enthusiasm for investing in Aboriginal education and training. The principle “that the federal government should do whatever it can to improve the education and training of aboriginal youth and young people” is embraced by 81% of Canadians , as shown in table 1.
