Energy Crisis:
BDO Dunwoody/Chamber Weekly CEO/Business Leader Poll by COMPAS in the Financial Post

Business leaders want to see change to Canada’s energy policy including increased investment in Canada’s energy infrastructure and the use of tax and other instruments to reduce dependency on oil imports from unstable parts of the world, get consumers and industry to accelerate conservation, encourage energy exploration on the continent and to get consumers and industry off oil and onto other energy sources. Respondents in this weekly business panel are slightly more concerned than they were two years ago that surging oil prices are stifling economic recovery. With respect to actions they are taking with their own businesses and energy supply, nearly half say they are taking a wait and see approach while one in ten are making contingency plans.

These are the key findings from this week’s National Post/COMPAS survey sponsored by BDO Dunwoody and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
