| On balance, Canada’s CEOs and business leaders suggest that inappropriate behaviour is not a common occurrence at their firms’ holiday parties. Most say that they have rarely witnessed poor conduct among staff, while business panelist who have volunteered some remarkable stories , detailed below. Notably, business leaders are polarized as to the consequences of such poor conduct at company holiday parties, falling into two categories: those who strongly oppose including the information in a staff’s employment record; and those who strongly favour it. Business leaders are also somewhat divided as to whether alcohol is a contributing factor in poor conduct. The majority of respondents report that alcohol is served at holiday functions. These are the key findings of this week’s survey of Canadian CEOs and business leaders for publication in the National post under the sponsorship of BDO Dunwoody and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. |
